PT Mitra Keluarga Karyasehat Tbk. (“the Company”) announced the Company’s financial performance for the period ended September 30, 2018.
“Mitra Keluarga’s strategy of tapping into the JKN (Universal Healthcare Coverage) patients would be one of our future growth drivers given the rapid ramp-up of JKN memberships during the last few years. To date, Mitra Keluarga has converted 4 (four) of Mitra Keluarga Hospitals as JKN providers and acquired Rumah Kasih Indonesia (Kasih Group). Apart from this, Mitra Keluarga’s 2 new hospitals in the pipeline and new centre of excellence would be Mitra Keluarga other growth drivers” explained Rustiyan Oen, Mitra Keluarga’s Chief Executive Officer.
Financial Performance for the Third Quarter ended September 30, 2018
Total Revenue was Rp 2,033 bilion (including Rp 195 bilion from Rumah Kasih Indonesia) for the third quarter 2018 compared to 1,847 bilion, an increase of 10.1%.
Total Outpatient Visits was 1.63 milion for the third quarter 2018 (including 329 thousand visits from Rumah Kasih Indonesia) compared to 1,3 milion, an increase of 25.4%.
Total Inpatient Admission was 121 thousand for the third quarter 2018 (including 41 thousand inpatient admission from Rumah Kasih Indonesia) compared to 85 thousand, an increase of 43.0%.
Bed Occupancy Ratio was 54.5% compared to 57.0%, a decrease -2.4%. There was an additional 87 beds in Mitra Keluarga Gading Serpong which increase the number of operational bed from 2,372 beds to 2,459 beds since June 2018.
EBITDA was Rp 723 bilion for the thrid quarter 2018 (including Rp 33 bilion from Rumah Kasih Indonesia) compared to Rp 696 bilion, an increase of 4.0%.
EBITDA Margin was 35.6% for the third quarter 2018 compared to 37.6%, a decrease of -2.1% due to lower EBITDA Margin in Rumah Kasih Indonesia and impact from pre operating cost from new Hospitals.
Net Profit was Rp 518 bilion for the third quarter 2018 compared to Rp 543 bilion, a decrease of -4.5% due to the Company has lower cash under managed related to hospital expansion and land acquisition has caused lower interest income. The Company is in net cash position amounting to Rp 1,917 billion as of September 30, 2018.
Mitra Keluarga will keep continue the intention to add more hospital in the future. The progress as per September 30, 2018 :
Mitra Keluarga Bintaro and Jatiasih will be expected to open by first quarter of 2019.
Acquisition of hospital(s) is in progress and anticipated to be finalized by 2019.
Brownfield expansion in the three Kasih Hospitals will start by the end of 2018 and expected to be done by the end of 2019. This will increase the capacity around 60 beds for those three hospitals.

The Company built its first hospital back in 1989 and currently owns and operates 20 hospitals, of which thirteen are located in Greater Jakarta, one in Cirebon, two in Sukabumi, three in Surabaya, East Java, and one in Tegal, Central Java. Typically, the hospitals are equipped with emergency rooms, outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, operating rooms, intensive care units and a pharmacy, as well as laboratory and radiology facilities. The hospitals also offer specialized services such as obstetrics, pediatrics, internal medicine, angioplasty, orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery, amongst others.
From its humble beginnings, The Company has transformed into one of Indonesia’s biggest private hospital operators by an intake of 1.96 million patients in 2017 and in terms of hospital bed capacity with 2,459 operational beds as of 30 June 2018.
The Company employed more than 5,150 medical professionals including doctors, laboratory staff, nurses and therapists with more than 1,000 specialists practicing in all of its hospitals by 2017.
